Men in Sheds urgently need volunteer Shed Leaders for all four of their sheds - Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, Northleach and their new site in Chipping Campden which opens on 7 September.
The Shed Leader role involves helping to ensure the smooth running of the shed, including opening up, helping members to get going on various projects and most importantly, the support and motivation of those that attend. Shed Leaders take responsibility for Health & Safety and Fire Safety procedures, but full training will be given and no previous experience is needed.
Moreton Shed is open on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10am and is situated at the University Allotments. Bourton Shed is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the British Legion. Northleach opens on Monday mornings from 9am to 1pm at the Westwoods Centre. The Chipping Campden shed is run in partnership with Campden Home Nursing at Jecca House and will be open on Tuesday and Thursdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Each shed provides a welcoming environment for members, male and female, to make friends, chat and have something outside of the house to focus on. Shed Members use and share valuable practical skills to work on both community and individual projects, but the real value of the shed is the uplifting camaraderie and peer support that the shed environment provides to those that attend.
