A Glorious Day At Batsford

Cotswold Friends would like to say a huge thankyou to Batsford Arboretum for generously hosting our Summer Event last week. We had a beautiful hot and sunny day and the grounds looked spectacular. Cotswold Friends took over the Education Centre for the day to host our Summer Picnic, which was attended by over 60 of our Volunteers, plus clients from our Befriending and Carer Respite services. What a lovely setting to sit and chat with friends over a cup of tea, a sandwich and a slice of cake! Given the hot weather, the elderflower cordial was extremely popular too! Talking of cake, many thanks to all of the volunteers who yet again delivered the most delicious homemade treats (including Nobby and Jane’s famous eccles cakes of course!)

It was lovely to see some of our four-legged friends in attendance too. We also received the gift of a beautiful handmade quilt from Christine Smith, made for us by the Stashers quilting group, of which she is a member. This lovely item will be featuring in a future fundraising event, so many thanks to the group for all of their hard work. Thanks again to everyone involved and we are all looking forward to our Autumn get together now! Details coming soon………
