Due to the ongoing growth in demand for our Community Transport Service, staff from Cotswold Friends were out and about recruiting during November and December. Recruitment displays were set up at Timothy’s Garden Centre, Budgens and Aldi in Moreton, the Black Cat Café in Northleach, Tesco in Stow and the Co-op in Bourton. Staff gave out leaflets at the Moreton Fireworks Display and various events celebrating the switching on of Christmas lights and 10,000 leaflets went out to target areas via The Local Answer publication. Jenny Smith has been a volunteer driver for Cotswold Friends for over 20 years and her story and experiences were covered in an article in the local press. Appeals also went out via our social media platforms. We are delighted to report that the campaign has so far resulted in 39 new volunteers so thank you so much to everyone who has joined us. However, we still need more volunteers and remain particularly short of drivers in Northleach and Andoversford and the surrounding areas. Please do get in touch if you can help.
