Cotswold Friends Celebrates the Festive Season

What a lovely time we all had at The Fire Service College, Moreton for our Christmas Lunch. The room was beautifully decorated and looked very festive and welcoming. Almost 160 people attended the lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal as well as the chance to chat and catch up with others. All of our Volunteers plus our Befriending & Carer Respite clients were invited and any clients unable to make the event were delivered a Christmas Bag full of goodies. Father Christmas arrived (although no-one claims to have seen the sleigh and reindeer!) and cheerfully gave out raffle prizes to the lucky winners. Due to the popularity of last years’ Christmas sing-along, our Community Singing group once again led the room in some of our favourite festive songs and before long everybody was joining in. Soon all the crackers were pulled and all the party poppers were popped and it was time to head home. Our thanks must go to the staff at The Fire College who were so fantastic, to Christine Ramsey for the beautiful table centrepieces, to Paul Webber and the Community Singing Group for leading the singalong, to Salima Willis for the very pretty angel decoration gifts, to everyone who donated raffle prizes towards the day and finally to Father Christmas for fitting us into his busy festive schedule!
Some thank you messages to share…. ”It was really lovely to attend (my first time!) and to see everyone really enjoying themselves, chatting to friends and strangers alike and having a good time.” “What a great time we had! The lunch was excellent and I was lucky enough to win a bottle of wine in the raffle!” “I always come away feeling Christmas has begun, so many thanks to everyone for a thoroughly jolly lunch.”
