Community Garden - Stow-On-The-Wold - Memory Garden
Along with the help of our lead volunteer Chris Small the Stow-On-The-Wold community garden is now open, the garden can be accessed anytime. Cotswold Friends volunteers including Chris are available on site on Wednesday afternoons from 13:30 - 15:30.
Need some help with pruning, preparing your garden for the seasons or just a friendly face and a cuppa then the garden is an oasis of colour and peace.
On the 2nd April we launch our ‘Memory Garden’, the garden is situated at the top of the existing garden space and will be used for individuals to plant a rose in memory of a loved one. Doreen Flexman, a volunteer of 35 years with Cotswold Friends was our first rose plant. She planted a fragrant smelling and vivid pink rose in memory of her husband Ron Flexman, both have given a great deal of their time and dedication to the wellbeing of the local community through their charity work.
Valerie from the National Garden Scheme was with us on opening day, she was gifted a yellow rose to plant in the garden in acknowledgement of the schemes support in funding the garden project at initial inception. Our team member Katy donated a red climbing rose which under the watchful eye of Chris is now doing really well.
