Volunteers
Whether you have volunteered for charity work before, or are new to the voluntary sector, Cotswold Friends has the right role for you.
With seven different services operating across the North Cotswolds, we have a wide variety of volunteering options!
Our services run throughout the year, so we can always find a volunteering time to suit you.
Your time commitment can be as much or as little as you can offer or you could provide occasional support, such as holiday cover for regular volunteers.
You just need to be committed to the level of support you have offered, so we know that we can rely on you.
If you would like to drive, befriend, support full-time carers with respite, help at lunch clubs or set up a new social group, just let us know.
Volunteering is enjoyable and rewarding. Some of our volunteers join us because they want to meet people, some want to use the skills they have acquired during a lifetime of work and life experience. Others want to learn new skills, perhaps to help them with future employment.

Volunteers: At the heart of our services
All of our volunteers want to be part of something that provides a valuable community service.
As we are supporting vulnerable people in our community, all our volunteers complete an application process (over 18’s) Click here to find out more.
At Cotswold Friends, our volunteers are the heart of our services and we do everything we can to support them.
As well as regular contact with Service Managers, we offer regular training courses, volunteer events, plus our website, newsletters and social media, to make sure we stay in touch and give volunteers more opportunities to make contact with each other.
With over 300 volunteers supporting our services, and over 2,000 people using our services, we are a growing community of friends and we encourage you to join us.
Ready to volunteer?

Investing in our volunteers
Cotswold Friends achieved Investing in Volunteers Accreditation in January 2020 as we continue to do everything we can to make our volunteering as safe, rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
Cotswold Friends also has a Volunteer Steering Group. Members are volunteers who represent each of the Charity’s services and give feedback and guidance to the Charity’s management team including the CEO and Volunteer Manager.
Membership changes annually and any volunteer, who has volunteered for six months or more, can apply to be a member by informing their Service Manager, or the Volunteer Manager, that they are interested in the role. The group usually meets three times a year in the Moreton office.
Whether you have volunteered for charity work before, or are new to the voluntary sector, Cotswold Friends has the right role for you.
If you are disabled, we can help you actively volunteer (via supported volunteering if necessary) and contribute to your community. Please get in touch to find out which venues are accessible.
We would love to hear your views! Please could you spare the time to complete our Cotswold Friends Volunteer Survey and help us evaluate our strengths and where we can improve. Your views and feedback on your volunteering role are really important to us, and your input will help us to shape our volunteering service in the future and also provide invaluable information for our funders. So, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and perhaps add a slice of cake, then click the link below to get going – the survey should only take around 10 minutes to complete.
Please Note: Volunteer Drivers have already been sent a separate driver’s survey to complete. If you are a driver and you have another volunteering role or roles with Cotswold Friends, we would ask you to complete this additional survey. If you are solely a Volunteer Driver, there is no need to complete this one. Alternatively, you can telephone 01608 697007.
Here are the Steering Group terms for the group.
